State Assemblyman, YB Yaakob Sapari today met with resident representatives of Bidai, Ubin and Birai to discuss and find a solution to the long-standing issues faced by them.

Arranged by Dr. Daroyah Alwi, Councillor for Majlis Perwakilan Penduduk (MPP19), the meeting was held at the MPP office in Dewan Adang at the request of BJRA. Bidai and Ubin (1 and 2) were represented by their respective reps. Birai was not represented. BJRA was represented by the President and EXCO members.

The meeting essentially centered around to main issues ie. the strong odour eminating from the organic/cattle farm and illegal settlements from the land under the high-tension cable directly next to them.

YB Yaakob Sapari assured the residents that the organic farm will be investigated and he will personally visit the site after the meeting. With regards to the cattle ranch, the matter is a State issue and will be dealt with on a State-wide initiative of relocation. The illegal settlement will also be investigated.

The meeting adjourned at about 12:00pm and YB Yaakob proceeded to visit the site with BJRA and some residents. YB Yaakob and the entourage managed to meet with one of the keeper of the farming plots.

The visit ended at about 1:30pm with YB Yaakob promising to take necessary actions.
